KESTREL LINER AGENCIES APPOINT NEW DIRECTOR FOR IRELAND

KESTREL LINER AGENCIES APPOINT NEW DIRECTOR FOR IRELAND

Andy Humphries will join Kestrel Liner Agencies with immediate effect to strengthen the position in Ireland.

Kestrel Liner Agencies has appointed Andy Humphries as the new Director for Ireland, with immediate effect.

Based at Kestrel’s offices in Dublin, Humphries will assume overall responsibility for all activities in Ireland and will focus developing the business in North Atlantic and Asian trades.

Humphries brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the freight forwarding industry throughout Ireland. This appointment comes at an important time for Kestrel Liner Agencies in Ireland. Since opening the Dublin office in November 2015, they have seen a dramatic increase in the business volumes. Furthermore, the recent appointment by OOCL as agents, has strengthened their position.

“We are really pleased to announce the appointment of Andy. His experience to date means that he brings with him a true understanding of our industry and our customers. We have a very strong team in Ireland and I am certain that they will benefit from having Andy at the helm.” Andy Thorne, Chairman, Kestrel Liner Agencies commented.

Humphries started his career working with Johnson Stevens Ireland Ltd in 1986.   He then set up Aquaship Agencies.  Aquaship was set up as a liner agent and freight forwarder who in its heyday was the largest liner agent in Ireland representing Cast Container Line, Lykes Container Line, TMM, Contship, Canmar and Ocean Express Lines.  Aquaship was sold successfully in 2011.  Since then he set up Click Freight in the UK where he operated for 2 years.  He has now decided to return to Ireland to take advantage of the opportunity presented by Kestrel’s entry to the Irish market and its representation of OOCL.

Kestrel Liner Agencies has a strong reputation as a market leader in Ireland, the UK and worldwide. They represent more shipping lines than any of their competitors. The appointment comes as Bob Kevitt makes a permanent move to the offices in San Francisco where he will concentrate on the increasing the Ireland / USA markets.
